So what is a housing council?
In Linköping during the university there are several different housing councils, also called trust councils or housing associations. These are non-profit associations consisting of students who work to promote the housing situation in their area. This may involve making contact with the landlord, buying furniture for the family rooms or holding activities for the residents in the area. The housing councils are financed for the most part by Kombo through grants and a donation fund.
Kårservice works to actively support the formation of additional housing councils in Norrköping and Linköping and to activate those that are now passive.
So who are the housing council ryds allé?
The housing council members are completely ordinary students who want to get involved on a voluntary basis to benefit the housing situation in an area. The board consists of a few different posts where everyone has different tasks, some are chairman, treasurer, IT manager or activity manager.
The housing council members also have the important task of representing the students in the area during the rent negotiations that usually take place during the spring semester. Kombo then takes in information and opinions from the housing council about what it is like to live in said place in order to be able to present this to the landlord.
